Although our web-based services have become very popular, and many former hoopness Windows and Macintosh software users
have converted to running their pools completely on our site, there are still reasons why some pool administators prefer to administer their pools
on their own personal computers.
The software described here has evolved since 1985.
hoopness score features...
- Pool administrator need not do any data entry. Entry is done by pool players with a small, distributable point-and-click program.
- A "mixed" pool can be run, with data from Windows and Macintosh players.
- On-line help
- There are numerous options for scoring, tiebreakers, etc.
- Score program keeps track of pool players paid status.
- Score program can calculate who is mathematically eliminated (after second round).
- There are 10 different reports available, and 5 sorting options.
- All reports can be printed or sent to disk file (export)
- HTML output optional for all reports
- Tab-Delimited output optional for all reports (import to Excel, etc.)
- HTML table output optional for some reports

hoopness score users have two ways to receive entries vis the web (though neither is as easy as using one of our completely web-based services).
Those ways are:
- Customize a perl script template included with the program to enable web-based entries on a web server on which they have proper security rights. (Note this is not for the faint-of-heart! See the question in the score FAQ in hoopness score help for more information.)
- use hoopness plus, which is a service offered on this site only for web-based entry for hoopness score customers ($19) Note: this only provides web-based entry on our site for your pool. You must download
your entries, import them into your copy of the program, then run and distribute your own reports.
